Missouri fisherman sets record with fish that fits in the palm of his hand: 'My friends thought it was a joke'
A Missouri angler is officially in the state's records books after catching a fish that looks like it could fit in the palm of his hand. Weighing in at 4 ounces, this sunfish is more than big enough to break the previous record.
The Missouri Department of Conservation announced that Robert Audrain III from St. Louis had set a state record by catching the 4-ounce sunfish on July 3rd. Audrain was fishing at a private pond in Franklin County when he caught the fish. https://www.foxnews.com/great-outdoo...ecord-4-ounces Now his friends won't be laughing when he makes millions. $$ His articles in Sport Fishing magazine fishing line companies endorsements for what kind of hook he used bait companies. Yup better than the lottery.

That IS a big Sunner.
I used to catch them all the time in a creek which ran by my house where I was a kid. Bluegills, too. I used a bamboo pole, string & a hook baited with worms I dug up by the creek. Real Tom Sawyer-type rig. |

Like the Warmouths here. Holy sheet do they fight for a little good eating fish. I tossed a few in my live well with my minnows and the two ate every damn minnow I had in their.
Little good eatin S.O.B.s they were. I was impressed with them and let em go. Hell I let all my fish go then go to the fish market I can't kill em.. |

Shit, probably wouldn't even keep that here. Too small.
Amazing the differences between places sometimes. |

Get a substantial record and your courted $$ by rod, reel, line, lure, boat, motor on and on of what you used for the capture. Those Guy Harvey shirts you see people wearing I knew his brother who invited me to go fishing out of Ft. Lauderdale. Busy at the time working and missed the opportunity. Mega millions waiting if you break George Perry's record Bass. Guys are trying ever day since 1932, 22 pounds, 4 ounces Official Largemouth World Record: George Perry's Undefeated Bass. On June 2nd, 1932, George Perry caught the current world record bass out of Lake Montgomery, an oxbow lake off the Ocmulgee River in southern Georgia. The fish (the whopper) weighed 22 pounds, 4 ounces. https://www.hukgear.com/pages/bigges...ss-ever-caught IGFA https://igfa.org/ |
