Russia Switching From Makarovs to the New Strizh Pistol
Oh, and its convertible too, to what they're calling a half-carbine with 30 round mags. http://www.guns.com/russia-adopts-ar...v-pm-9056.html Looks like the Makarov prices are going to fall when the surplus ones hit here.

Interesting.
Just looks like another plastic pistol with no soul. Yeah, I said it - no soul. My 1911A1s have soul. Steel and wood. My Springfield XDs are soulless.

Looks alright to me. Better than the Mak for a service pistol. Then again I like rather powerful pistols. And the 9mm para leaves the 9mm mak in the dirt.

It might look like some Glock/Smith&Wesson MP9 bastard, but with that low bore axis, I bet it's pretty good to shoot with under stress.

A glock had a affair with a keltec pmr30 and the bottom pic shows proof the a plr16 was filming. Did I read 30 rounds? I didn't see a extended mag, is the grip really that big and my eyes are misleading me? Still leaps ahead of a Makrov.

That's what I was thinking. Looks a lot like the PMR30.

The Ruskies should've stuck with and modernized the T-33 Tokarev. Small, cheap to make, bulletproof, cheap ammo, armor-piercing capable.
With a small mag extension the Tok could be a great personal defense pistol. JMHO. |

Won't happen, the Russian Makarovs are still banned from import (aka the 1989 import ban), we can blame boosh Sr. for that one.
