Ruger MK-II pistol..
Never touched one in my life.
At the local range, nice guy lets me bust a few rounds. My God.. He had a paper plate set up 100 yds. plus on the dirt berm. Little left, little right, then hit the plate. Sold. Had too have one. $350 as new, in the box. Damn. Now I am broke this month. Butter and noodles. Do not care. Had too have one. Edit add: Guy barley shot it. Polished trigger job. I am guessing less than 3 lbs.

What a nice pistol. A .22 pistol is something on my list.

I remember the first ones, priced at $39.95.
Too bad I couldn't have kept every one that I have owned. |

Mines been suppressed by John's Guns. Was recently shooting Piney Mountain tracers out of it @ 100 yards. Nice bright green trace visible in day light.

I remember a guy who hated all Rugers.
When that little pistol came out he refered to it as "Just Like one of those cheap WW2 Jap pistols!" Later on he converted and admitted it was 'better!' |

FWIW, for those as didn't live through the early days;
The only Mark I was the 6" adjustable sight target version, won my share of matches back 'in the day', competing againts High Standard, Colt and others. The same series fixed sight 4"bbl was the Standard. My ONLY gripe about the first Rugers were that they were bigger, bulkier and heavier than a .22 needed to be. (Compared to a Colt Woodsman or an 'all-purpose' sporter type HS of the same time frame.) Come to think of it, that's still my biggest gripe with them. Regards, ... |

The blueing was too shiny for outdoor competition, so I parked it. They were only about $75.00 when I got this one. |

I'd like to get a Mk II to go with my Mk II 22/45.
One thing you are going to want, 4th, is more mags. They are just too much fun to shoot with only 2 mags. We used to buy the mag components from Ruger and assemble our mags for around $10, while the factory sold mags for around $20. I guess someone caught on to the game and raised the prices of components so it costs the same to buy parts to build, or a complete mag. I have 5 mags - so I can load up a box of .22's at a time.
