Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

I wouldn't mind selling my Garand Rifle if I sold all the ammo with it. Never shoot it, but that what a secondary safe is for!

"If" I had a Garand Rifle, I would insist that it be buried with me. If I was to be buried.
I don't think the crematorium would appreciate it going through the burner though.

I do have a grandson though, who just MIGHT appreciate one, after I'm gone.

I'll have to make a down payment on one, for that purpose.

Let my C&R license go years ago, haven't missed it.

It sure was a money sucker for years though. About the only thing I missed that I should have gotten, were some of the old Colt Systema and Ballister Molina .45's when they were running cheap.

I let mine expire when Berry didn't take the Oath of Office right, If you remember the Supreme Court Justice Roberts had him do it later in a private office. Any ways I agree with RetVet Quote The bottom line is I don't intend to invite the ATF to my home to review my book and collection and would rather not have to haul a lot to their office to complete an inspection - at there whim.

It clearly states the two following items on the renewal form under the
heading "NOT RENEWING?":

1. Return this application and your firearms records
within 39 days of discontinuance of your business to:
ATF Out-Of-Business Records Center

2. I am not NOT renewing my license and will submit my records to ATF.

I guess if you don't send the form back, you don't get to sign and date that
statement.

That only applies for renewal of a regular FFL business license, it does not apply to an 03 C&R license because C&R is not a business.
Quote:
Are licensed collectors required to turn in their acquisition/disposition records to ATF if their collector's license is not renewed or they discontinue their collecting activity?

No. The GCA requires the delivery of required records to the Government within 30 days after a firearms “business” is discontinued. A license as a collector of curios or relics does not authorize any business with respect to firearms. Therefore, the records required to be kept by licensed collectors under the law and regulations are not business records and are not required to be turned in to ATF when collectors’ licenses are not renewed or collecting activity under such licenses is discontinued.

Thanks for the clarification, Eightball. I am very relieved to read that.

I'd keep it. The day after you let it go, there will be the find of the century and the idiot won't know what it's worth, totally cherry and unfired. Besides just the ammo discount alone pays for itself.

Where do you get an ammo discount?

You have to ask for it. It depends on the store or website. The same thing applies if you join the NRA in many cases. I think wideners and century arms might do it. Heck, if you're at a gun show, let them know before you buy. Be prepared to prove it with the license and card respectively.

Of course, $30 is less than even 1 transfer fee that you will pay to your neighborhood gun store, not to mention actually having to physically drive there and take time out of your day.

They like to cash the check. Issuing denials and having to explain why would require work. The key phrase to keep in mind is low profile. Governments like cashing checks and dislike change.
