Let my C&R license go years ago, haven't missed it.

It sure was a money sucker for years though. About the only thing I missed that I should have gotten, were some of the old Colt Systema and Ballister Molina .45's when they were running cheap.

Any ways I agree with RetVet Quote The bottom line is I don't intend to invite the ATF to my home to review my book and collection and would rather not have to haul a lot to their office to complete an inspection - at there whim.

1. Return this application and your firearms records
within 39 days of discontinuance of your business to:
ATF Out-Of-Business Records Center

2. I am not NOT renewing my license and will submit my records to ATF.

I guess if you don't send the form back, you don't get to sign and date that
statement.

That only applies for renewal of a regular FFL business license, it does not apply to an 03 C&R license because C&R is not a business.

No. The GCA requires the delivery of required records to the Government within 30 days after a firearms “business” is discontinued. A license as a collector of curios or relics does not authorize any business with respect to firearms. Therefore, the records required to be kept by licensed collectors under the law and regulations are not business records and are not required to be turned in to ATF when collectors’ licenses are not renewed or collecting activity under such licenses is discontinued.

You have to ask for it. It depends on the store or website. The same thing applies if you join the NRA in many cases. I think wideners and century arms might do it. Heck, if you're at a gun show, let them know before you buy. Be prepared to prove it with the license and card respectively.

Of course, $30 is less than even 1 transfer fee that you will pay to your neighborhood gun store, not to mention actually having to physically drive there and take time out of your day.
