Mesquite Pistol Grips
The HOA made me cut down a nice mesquite tree 6 months ago.I painted the ends of the logs so it wouldn't dry out to fast.Today I slabbed some off and its ready to work.Going to attempt to make some grips out of it.Its just to nice to grill on.

cut them oversized. sand them to fit. the hard part is centering the bolt hole at the correct angle.

He finally got one set built an said he'd never make another set using Osage. Ranchers can't even drive staples in Osage posts to attach barbwire. They had to wire the barbwire to the Osage posts. |

Ive read factual books about the old west telegraph lines and in Arizona they talked about just beating the mesquite with sledge hammers to "chop" it for the fireplace instead of using an axe because the wood is so hard & tough.

We must have had a different mesquite in Texas.
We could cut it easily ... split it ... grind it ... I still have some we brought from Texas. Sure smoked good for ribs an steaks. |

You think I could buy a couple pieces from you so I can make some grips for a Beretta 92, and a 21a?
