Those are nice Steve, I checked them out before. Probably would get one or something similar but I have a 1,000 sq. miles of firewood out my front door to cook with.
Come in handy in arid or winter A.O.s with limited fuel.. http://www.kellykettleusa.com/medium...plete-kit.html

And worth every penny IMHO of coirse.
Been using one for .... well ... over 20 years. Just the thing on a long drive, hunting, fishing or whatever. Uses very little fuel and gets the water boiling in a hurry for coffee, tea, oatmeal or anything else you need boiling water for. I use a buddy burner most of the time, just for convenience sake which does carbon up the chimney, but it cleans up easy. you can burn Forrest liter or just about anything flammable, very efficient. Stop at a wayside, fire up the kettle for coffee and relax while you eat the burger you cooked on the manifold over the last 100--200 miles. No hinting for a restaurant, waiting in line or tips to surly servers. I've got the 2 (different sizes) I've had for years, a new bigger one is on my wish list Really great product! Not really suitable for back packing ... unfortunately. Regards, ... |

I've been wanting one of those for a while. The price always stops me short of purchase, though.
I got a couple Swiss Army volcano stoves that are a bit smaller and fit nicely in my backpack. At the time, they were $10/ea. I use it with a Trangia alcohol stove, for convenience. But I've also used wood and leaves and bark in it, too.

Another version that some claim is better designed due to it's simplicty: http://www.ecobilly.com
I think the prices are in Aussy $. it is very similar to one that I have, which unfortunately isn't produced any more. It worked for me virtually daily for a year in 20+ african countries, fueled by twigs, dried camel dung or what ever else was available. For the time being it resides in my basement waiting for some future adventure.
