I think ATV riding would fit in this area as well...
If you want to post pictures, ask questions, or talk about ATVs, this would be a good area for it.

Thanks Dor! Neat thing about the "Green Thing", we drive it off the boat ramps around here and get some pretty weird looks. It does about 4kts on water and isn't too stable, but it works!
Pogo, that Mule does look interesting. Brian |

I don't have an ATV, the closet thing I have to one is this, but it is still fun. I get lots of looks and lots of people talking to me about it when I ride it on the street.

Scheister, Years ago while I was at Chanute AFB in Illinois, I got a
hand me down Kawasaki something350 dirt bike to tool around on. I had a lot of fun on that running through the local corn fields and whatever. That was the last dirt bike I ever had. They are a lot of fun. Brian |

I have, upon occassion, thought about getting an ATV. I am not real familiar with them, but I was kind of figuring that if the Polaris is good enough for our troops, it is probably good enough for me.
Any thoughts?

Most reliable are Honda and Yamaha without a doubt. I believe Suzuki and Kawasaki fall somewhere behind them. Then there are all the others, Polaris, Bombardier, Artic Cat, and a few lesser known brands. When I buy another one it will probably be another Honda, possibly a Yamaha Grizzly. |

And, Polaris specs, for the Military are different than for civilians. |

I do understand the "lowest bidder" aspect of it, but also remember, that since 9/11, the U.S. military has really tried hard to only accept bids from U.S., or Canadian companies. IE, companies they can "sort" of count on to actually supply the products in event of a war.
I also try to buy U.S. made products, rather than foreign made. It is getting tougher all the time, but I try. |
