Just bought an M57
Just picked it up from my FFL. It is an all numbers matching Yugo 7.62x25 Tokarev 9 round mag. It looks to be about 90% bluing and very nice condition. I got it off Go-broker.com for $179. I took her down to inspect her and she looked excellent in every way. Very impressed with the quality of the machine work... for a commie country. Now I just have to find some time to go blast off a few rounds and see how she shoots.
Anyone have any Tokarev stories to tell? |

shoots great.....have had primers blow out (romy '80s) from surplus ammo and seize the fcg but nothing worse.....
from the info I gathered which came from the internets....there's more chamber support for the x25 pressures than the cz-52....(which is why I sold the 52's and bought the tt-33 and more Yugo's) I have one norinco which I bought used and the disconector is worn in half...may need to replace that.. If I knew any better...I would stick to practicing with the toks and skip seeking out the RockIsland .38 super frame and a conversion barrel to maintain one grip; there's usually some expendable income which has dried up recently...soooooo yeah.....higher cash priorities.... buy it cheap! stack it deep. |

Great purchase! My Romanian throws the surplus corrosive stuff very nicely,(avoid Bulgarian 1950s lots) and the new non corrosive Privi Parsan? along with Sellior/Bellot.

No stories, but I have a Romy TT33 a CZ52 and PPS43C that all shoot the tok round. One one my favorite pistol rounds to shoot. |

Looks like a pretty nice piece for just 179.

When I was in Bosnia the Serb police and Serb Army had M57s. I bought one a few years ago for nostalgia reasons. It's a quality gun and a good shooter, they are on of the last surplus bargains.

I shot it for the first time yesterday morning! Put two mags through it and then a good cleaning. Functioned flawelessly! Really like it and may carry it once in a while.

Imho, I wouldn't carry it cocked/locked unless a zombie apocalypse was afoot, and even then, I'd use the half-cocked setting.
