Went out this past Saturday with a couple other Xterra owners. We headed up Mt. Taylor, which is East of Albuquerque, just outside of Grants, NM.
We didn't count on the snow getting too deep, though. You know you are in too deep when the only other tracks in the snow are Snow Cat tracks. We had to pull the lead vehicle out a couple times and decided to back down. Playing up in the slippery stuff on a cut out road on a steep mountain just didn't seem like the wisest course. The snow wasn't deep everywhere. In fact, we wound up driving through all seasons - Winter snow, spring mud, summer dust, and fall leaves.

On San Mateo mesa before turning around to go home.
I went back up the mountain to cut a Christmas tree, though. |
