Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Korean Ground Beef Bulgogi

I love Korean food. It is almost up there with Thai food as my favorite Asian cuisine. What I like most about Korean food, is they like to barbecue. But this dish isn't barbecue. It's just an easy, quick meal that looks like it packs a lot of flavor - or at least garlic.

It's what's for dinner tonight. I'll tell you all how it turned out later tonight.

Here's the recipe - very simple.

Pictures and a how-to video at the link: https://seonkyounglongest.com/ground-beef-bulgogi/

What’s different the traditional style beef bulgogi and ground beef bulgogi?

The flavor is same- but the texture and how easy to make ground beef bulgogi into not only main dish, but appetizer (lettuce wrap!), meal prep, quick week night dinner or weekend brunch by just put sunny side up right on top!

Ground beef bulgogi is great basic recipe that can perform many different ways!
Quote:
1 lb grass-fed or lean ground beef
10 cloves garlic, chopped
1 medium size onion, small diced
4 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp mirin
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp plum extract(you can substitute to apricot jam)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp cooking oil
3 to 5 green onions, chopped
1 tsp sesame seeds
1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

Combine beef, garlic, onion, soy sauce, mirin, sugar, plum extract and black pepper in a large mixing bowl. You could marinate for 30 minutes but it’s not necessary because we are using ground beef.

Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat, add cooking oil and swirl to coat. Add the ground beef mixture, stir fry and break down the meat into little pieces. Keep cooking until there’s no moisture and everything is fulled cooked, about 8 to 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.

When you hear the sizzling and all the moisture from the beef is gone, toss in chopped green onions. Turn off the heat. Add sesame seeds and oil, toss one last time.

Serve on top of warm cooked rice, cauliflower rice, quinoa or any starch of your choice. Garnish with some sesame seeds and green onion if you’d like to. Enjoy!

Ground meat, you can cook it so many different ways, BJ's sells ground meat that has very little fat content, not good for making burgers but good for that.

I eat a lot of ground buffalo. We are making this recipe with 97% lean ground beef, but I will try it again another time with the buffalo meat.

It came out good! Wife followed the recipe exactly. No substitutions except she didn't add black pepper, because she's allergic to that.

I was able to find the plum extract and the Miri in a local Asian market that is broken down into different Asian countries. I looked for it in the Korean section first, but actually found them both in the Japanese section.

Of course, I had to spice it up with some Siracha sauce. But that just enhanced the sweetness of the beef.

Wife did not like it. She doesn't like meat that has been sweetened - like BBQ sauces.

Looks good to me!

I had a friend who married a Korean woman while stationed there with the Army. When they came back stateside we had them over and she made bulgogi. Holy smokes was that good! Been looking for a easy-to-do recipe and this one might just be the ticket.
