Korean Ground Beef Bulgogi
I love Korean food. It is almost up there with Thai food as my favorite Asian cuisine. What I like most about Korean food, is they like to barbecue. But this dish isn't barbecue. It's just an easy, quick meal that looks like it packs a lot of flavor - or at least garlic.
It's what's for dinner tonight. I'll tell you all how it turned out later tonight. Here's the recipe - very simple. Pictures and a how-to video at the link: https://seonkyounglongest.com/ground-beef-bulgogi/ Quote:

Ground meat, you can cook it so many different ways, BJ's sells ground meat that has very little fat content, not good for making burgers but good for that.

I eat a lot of ground buffalo. We are making this recipe with 97% lean ground beef, but I will try it again another time with the buffalo meat.

It came out good! Wife followed the recipe exactly. No substitutions except she didn't add black pepper, because she's allergic to that.
I was able to find the plum extract and the Miri in a local Asian market that is broken down into different Asian countries. I looked for it in the Korean section first, but actually found them both in the Japanese section. Of course, I had to spice it up with some Siracha sauce. But that just enhanced the sweetness of the beef. Wife did not like it. She doesn't like meat that has been sweetened - like BBQ sauces. |

Looks good to me!
I had a friend who married a Korean woman while stationed there with the Army. When they came back stateside we had them over and she made bulgogi. Holy smokes was that good! Been looking for a easy-to-do recipe and this one might just be the ticket. |
