Good post Sanders bookmarked to study later on.
Check this water out in France holy sheeeet. Killer slime that can ‘kill you in seconds’ taking over France’s beaches France’s beaches have been inundated by lethal slime with what experts say has the potential to kill sunbathers within seconds. https://www.foxnews.com/world/france...killer-seconds Few years back a county just a bit west of Orlando. Woman sends her home tap water in for testing just for the hell of it. Results? Do NOT drink that water. Uh oh. Has her neighbor friend send hers in for backup. Same thing NO. County was getting the water from their canal system and apparently not purifying it enough. The SHTF and they cleaned it up I guess?

That thought never crossed my mind when I bought and used my camping filter. I guess I bough a good one by accident.
I have a Sawyer filter and it removes anything above 0. 1 micron in size. It will remove everything but viruses. Where I camp the main concern is Gardia and other parasites which are larger than .1 micron. So it should be effective enough. Sawyer filters are tested by an independent labratory: Quote:

After running your water through the filter of your choice then bring the water up to a good boil and put a few drops of bleach in.
That should pretty much make deceased any bad guys. |

When I was a kid, we'd drink from the high mountain streams in Colorado. Now there are beavers everywhere. I'd even feel like I was taking a risk if I drank from one up above the beaver habitat. Don't know how those bugs can travel upstream, and I don't want to find out if they do.
