CH Single Hole Reloading Press
Pick this up at a gun show this weekend. I looked pretty rough when I got it off the guy for a couple bucks. Somebody had sprayed the whole thing with a can of blue spray paint. I took it apart and stripped it, then recoated the parts that needed paint. I have a total of $20 in it now and I'm thrilled to have another nice old press.

Never seen one like that ... looks solid and for a few bucks it's a real good deal.

Dang, I've got one almost exactly like that. My son is an electrician, and was on a service call, and found it in the trash. He picked it out, and gave it to me.
I haven't done anything with it yet. But, I'm going to clean it up, and repaint it, and use it too.

What they are really good for is swaging bullets.

I haven't been able to find a place to buy replacement shell holders for the old CH press. You can find an occasional one on ebay or gunbroker.
I think I'll see if I can get my machinist neighbor to machine out the slot in the one I've got, so that the modern size shell holders will slide into it. |

You can order them from the new CH Tool and Die.
http://www.ch4d.com/ Click on Presses and them pick the "H" press at the bottom of the "H" Press page is a link for parts. You can get one there. 04419 19 Ram Nut ea. $ .90 04420 20 Ram ea. $ 8.30 04421 21 Ram Clip ea. $ .90 Edit: I also see they have what the call a Universal "H" Ram replacement in the links for presses. Looks like what you might need. |

Thanks. I'm going to set that press up for my 45-70.
I just called their number and ordered the universal H Ram. It will allow me to use my shell holders I've already got. The price was $9.60 I believe is what she said. Kewl! |

C&H will refurbish the press to factory specs, and it isn't that expensive. The do a great job. My neighbor has three of their press'. One for 12ga trap rounds, a second set up for 12ga bird loads, and a third just for .30-06. Not that they can't do other things, but that is how he has them set yp, and he leaves them that way.

I received an email from CH Engineering in reply to the email question I sent them before 40mmHEDP told me about the replacement ram. The email reply also told me about the ram, and it also advised me that I would have to replace the primer arm if I was going to prime the cartridges with the press for the following reason:
