It's good to know you aren't 1911-less. I always recall with sadness the story of you giving your prized 1911 to the grinder...

It took a long time. I hated the idea of a Tupperware gun. For looks it's about as ugly as they come. A blued pre-1983 S&W revolver is a piece of art.
But eventually I warmed up to Glocks. My Glock 27 is my favorite concealed carry piece. It's compact and holds 10+1 with the standard magazine and 11+1 with the extended grip magazine. I carry with the standard magazine. In fact, I just picked up a brand new blue label Gen 4 Glock 17 yesterday. I have 5 Glocks now.

Aiming a Glock still feels like trying to point a brick at a target to me...
Maybe I have to adapt to sideways shooting and get me some bird's eye sights to make it feel comfortable?

I don't think any semi-auto is beautiful I like the looks of a nice revolver.
Here is a picture of the new one I bought. I bought a blue label one with three magazines and night sights. I got it at the same price as a police officer can. Glock gives a good discount to police officers, active military and retired military. |

I was on a police department when the Glock hit the street. I'd carried a Cold official police revolver for 18-1/2 years and then they issued the Glock. It never fit my hand then and still doesn't. I never got used to the funny trigger, DOA only with the twig in the middle of the trigger. Just never learned to like it though it shot well. Glocks are really good pistols for most people but not for me. I still prefer the 1911 for the semi pistol and revolvers too. Every gun is not for every body and I'll never tell a person that likes his Glock that his pistol is junk. For most folks they are fine.

I love Glocks, the more people who buy them, the less competition for guns I want.

If it RELIABLY goes "bang" when I pull the trigger...and has sufficient sights, inertia/mass and legs... to allow me to make a 25' center mass shot fairly easily and quickly allows for follow up shots. I don't care how it's name is spelled.
Yes, I do like hi-cap... in case spreading the love of Jesus to those who seek to harm me enmasse becomes necessary. Close combat in a lethal situation is simply not the same as leisurely banging away with your favorite slugtosser at the local range...with plenty of time for re-loads and nose picking in between shots into the scoring black. I absolutely guarantee that when evil bastards are busting caps at your ass....your fucking dickbeaters will be shaking. Carrying something that is a PITA to reload with fearpiss running down your leg...is a bad idea.
