The M14 is more accurate because of the Garand adjustable sights and because the front and rear sight are on the same plane, so to speak. The FAL has the front sight on the barrel, and the rear sight on the lower receiver so there is some play (even if minuscule) between the two, especially if you shoot with a sling. The rear sight on the FAL almost seems like an afterthought.

DSA is selling an M16A2 style adjustable rear sight for the FAL, but I keep finding other things I need to get besides that. I would like to try it out, though.
