The best was on the SeaSide, NJ Boardwalk, 30 years ago. Now they have a bunch of chili-shitters working there and it sucks.
The worst was two places; a village in Northern Italy near the Alps and a joint in Plymouth, NH that had a sign outside that read; 'BEST PIZZA NORTH OF THE BRONX'....Yea, right.
I flipped through 4th's link and I just don't understand all the burnt(black)crust pies.
I've taken to making my own. I get a ball of dough from Publix(a supermarket), top with cow's milk mozzarella, ground bison, homemade sauce and grated provolone. Deep-dish style.
