I would include cats in this also, we had a big midnight black tom cat 15 years back named Teddy. He come home one day with a implement wound and was rushed to the vet, the surgery went well but he had heart failure coming out of surgery and died.
My daughter's cried for 2 days after we buried him, about a week later my oldest girl started screaming LOOK... LOOK and there at the patio glass door sat Teddy with a look on his face I can't describe.
He was there for about 30 seconds and gradually faded away, I would guess he came to say goodbye... I've seen weird shit in my life but that freaked me out.
