Taurus Judge

Any of you fellers ever shot one ?? I've read some good reviews.... what's the word on the street ? Anybody got one ? I'm thinking about getting one.

I was going to get one. But none of the wholesalers had any in stock for over a year. And I wasn't going to pay an inflated price for one.

I decided to heck with it, and I spent some money on a couple of S&Ws recently. So I ain't gonna be buying any other guns for a while unless I run across a heck of a bargain.

The Box O Truth guy did a test on them I think, and if I remember correctly, he wasn't all that impressed by them. http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/bot41.htm

Probably depend on what a guy wanted one for. I would think a blast in the face with a .410 shotgun using #4 or #6 shot would pretty much put the fight out of a guy.

I would think a .410 to the face and a followup with a .45 Long Colt, and the bad guy would be toast.

I wonder if those things every, actually, killed much.
That .44 Rimfire was anemic, at best, in a rifle, let alone in a revolver.

Yeah, the Judge would be much more powerful in it's .45 Long Colt.

Pietta makes a new Lemat. I know they make a black powder cap & ball model, and I think they also make a center fire model. Don't know what caliber it is in though.

It would be great to have one in .45 Long Colt or .44 Magnum over a 20 or 28 gauge.

Now an original would be a great collector's item. But one in good shape sells for a bunch of bucks.

Yes it does.
The Lemat is a legend.

Not the greatest weapon ever-but still a legend.

And now for the trivia question.
Which 1950's TV Western series hero carried a Lemat?
(you old farts should know this)

In my experience Taurus is crap

Some people like em, but I will never own another after repeated parts breakages (revolvers)

If that didn't work the 12 GA shotgun barrel underneath would get the job done

Moon...search for failures on the Judge.

Read on one forum where where one blew up and was brought up it had happened before.

On the other point....

I'd love a LaMatt. Would be worth my salt as a Southerner if I didn't :)

Prized piece to own during the WOSI

My light weight Judge works fine..I have a Taurus M450 Titanium 2.5" snubbie that is for 45C that I like better..smaller. I bought the Judge becaue I could.
